The 2014 Canada Post Ecommerce Innovation Awards are putting a spin on the successful format from last year by tweaking the categories – and increasing the number of awards from six to 10 – to recognize greater innovation.
Last year, one large and one small company were each given an award across three categories: Best E-Tailer, Most Innovative and Best Multichannel.
This year, that format has been wiped away to make room for more specific awards, including ‘Most innovative Startup’ and ‘Most Creative Marketing Campaign’ .
“As online retail evolves, the Awards will evolve and we remain relevant to the e-commerce community,” René Desmarais, Senior Vice-President, Parcels, Canada Post said in a release. “Our new categories will help us recognize and reward the creative energy that has raised e-commerce in Canada to an exciting new level this past year.”
Last year’s finalists included a variety of large and small online retailers such as Lowe’s.ca, Frank & Oak, Well.ca, BookMob, Minitrade, Walmart.ca, and Snakes & Lattes.
$1-million in free shipping and marketing prizes will be handed out to the finalists and winners.
