Canadian Retailers Falling Behind E-Commerce Consumers

Did you know that Canadians are a web-savvy bunch? Our population might be small and dispersed across this great country, we might all live in igloos and have pet moose (if you ask some of our American neighbours), but man do we surf the web like it’s our job. (Maybe all the snow we’re buried under for 12 months of the year is good for wifi reception.)

We buy a lot online. We spend a ton of time online. Yet our businesses aren’t… ? According to this infographic, less than half of Canadian businesses even have a website, never mind an e-commerce or omni-channel presence. Whoa. That’s bad.

So, an open question: what’s going on, Canadian businesses? Why aren’t you investing in yourselves and your futures by getting online? We spend money online as consumers, yet we can reconcile our business lives to also be online?
