Q: GIVE US YOUR ELEVATOR PITCH.
Alexandre Simionescu: Essentially what we do is we help our clients connect with their audience in the physical space through integrated digital experiences. The goal is to take the message and physical space and deliver it to the audience as a holistic experience.
Q: WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE BUSINESS IN THE LAST YEAR?
Alexandre Simionescu: Our most recent and most exciting project is an extremely large scale installation in a shopping centre in Dubai.
Q: TELL US A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT THE CITY WALK, DUBAI EXPERIENCE.
Alexandre Simionescu: The intention with the City Walk experience in Dubai was to create an architectural experience that was unique. We accomplished this using projection, LED and lighting. With something of this scale, you simply cannot ignore it.
Q: NOW ON THE FLIP SIDE, WHAT’S THE MOST CHALLENGING THING?
Alexandre Simionescu: There are many challenges, that’s for sure. Our main challenge is in educating people on how to use all of these technologies. Take LED display for example: we’ve seen this time and time again in places like Time Square, and that’s really the only reference most people have for how they are supposed to look, or be leveraged. This is evolving, so we need to help educate clients and designers to show them how they can transform space and elevate experiences.
Q: YOU TALK ABOUT CHANGES AND EVOLUTIONS OF THE INDUSTRY. ARE THERE ARE ANY OTHER BIG CHANGES YOU’VE NOTICED?
Alexandre Simionescu: Cost is coming down in the displays, resolutions are going up, so it’s creating a lot of opportunity.
Q. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE ANOTHER FOUNDER OR STARTUP?
Alexandre Simionescu: Don’t waste time figuring out if you can do it; just figure out how to do it. Barriers are mostly in our heads. Also, don’t give up. Every other competitor you have is counting on you to give up so they can get ahead.
