Last night at online video conference Vidcon, Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube announced that the company would open a Creator Space in Toronto, according to Mashable.
The article does not include an approximate opening date for the space.
Toronto seems to be getting more attention from youtube as a city of content creators. In May, Youtube held a Fanfest in Toronto, featuring several notable Canadian online video stars like Lilly Singh (aka Superwoman) and Jasmeet Singh (aka Jus Reign).
Toronto’s own online video conference/celebration, Buffer Festival, runs each may with Youtube as a lead sponsor.
